Dr. Alida Zayas has been a General Dentist with FCHC since 2000. She earned her Doctorate in Dentistry from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. She is the recipient of FCHC’s Health Care Provider of the Year.
Over her 22 years of clinical practice, she recognizes her strength is in her ability to make people comfortable in an uncomfortable situation — dentistry. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Zayas worked for cardiologists, a pharmaceutical company, and retail. She was a nutrition consultant and served as a hostess and waitress in restaurants.
She says the best part of working at FCHC is giving back to the community in which she lives by taking care of patients who usually would not afford dental care and caring for her “work family.” She helps her patients feel good about their care by sharing that she and her family receive healthcare services at FCHC.
As much as Dr. Zayas loves being a dentist, she says her favorite job is that of mom. She and her husband Mark have a two-legged child, Madison, and a four-legged child named Hunter. She describes herself as a “foodie” who loves traveling, working out, biking, cross country, and track in her spare time.
