A spirit of care and community filled the sanctuary at Ask The Doctor Live in Fort Pierce on February 17th as residents gathered at Thirteenth Street Church of God Inc. for a live health education event designed to discuss medical and healthcare questions. The event was graciously hosted by Pastor Hazel alongside Bishop and Lady Adderly, whose leadership and commitment to community wellness helped create a welcoming and supportive environment. The evening brought together FCHC clinicians and staff dedicated to improving access to care and empowering families with reliable health information.
Throughout the evening, community members asked thoughtful questions and wide-ranging questions about diabetes and hypertension to parents in attendance, who also raised questions about pediatric services, the sliding fee scale, dental services, and pharmacy services, reflecting a strong interest in accessible, comprehensive care for the entire family.
FCHC clinicians participated in answering clinical questions, creating an open and engaging dialogue with attendees. Solange Lamur (Center Administrator for Grace & Lincoln Park) and Evelyn Perez (Patient Service Supervisor for Fort Pierce) assisted with front desk-related questions, helping community members better understand appointment scheduling, documentation requirements, and available resources.
The event highlighted the power of partnership between faith-based organizations and healthcare providers. As conversations continued after the program ended, one thing was clear: when healthcare information is made accessible in trusted community spaces, it not only informs, it builds trust, strengthens relationships, and promotes healthier futures for all.
