Monique Rubert, ARNP, has been a dedicated member of Florida Community Health Centers for seven years, primarily serving at the Stuart Center. Her versatility as a clinician is evident from her initial year with the organization, where she provided coverage across multiple centers, including Stuart, Indiantown, Darwin, Okeechobee, and Fort Pierce, caring for both pediatric and adult populations.
Monique holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and dual certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from Florida International University (FIU). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. Notably, Monique was the first Black female to complete the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at FIU and subsequently joined the first cohort of the Family Nurse Practitioner program. During her graduate studies, she served as President of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Pi Alpha Chapter, for two years and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
A proud member of the Nurse Practitioner Council of the Treasure Coast, Monique brings a wealth of knowledge in nursing research, education, leadership, and clinical practice. She has participated in several research projects, including serving as a research assistant and adjunct professor at FIU, where she taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in nursing.
Monique has also contributed to the field through numerous presentations at conferences, particularly focusing on innovative teaching methods in nursing education and enhancing student engagement in the 21st century.
Outside of her professional life, Monique finds inspiration from her grandmother Flora, who instilled in her the importance of healthy eating and family values. She is passionate about nature and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including kayaking, boating, tennis, jogging, and painting. Monique’s commitment to her work and well-being is further reflected in her personal habits, such as daily meditation, regular check-ins with her mother, and a perfect attendance record over the past seven years at FCHC. She takes pride in bringing joy to her patients and colleagues, making it a point to ensure they laugh and smile every day.
Her favorite quote is by Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people may forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
