Hosted by the Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Coffee and Conversations honored Juneteenth, and our team had the meaningful opportunity to connect with the community in a spirit of education, remembrance, and partnership. Insightful conversations were enriched by guest speaker Derek Hankerson, President of the Loxahatchee Preservationist Board and local historian, whose engaging presentation brought local history to life. By sharing the rich cultural legacy and historical significance of Juneteenth, he inspired thoughtful discussion and reminded attendees of the importance of honoring the past while working together to build a brighter future.
Through the distribution of brochures and informational materials, we were able to extend our reach, ensuring that more individuals have access to the resources and care available to them.
The event fostered genuine relationship-building and opened the door to new partnership opportunities that will help strengthen our presence in the community and deepen our collective impact.
Moments like these remind us that outreach is more than sharing information, it’s about listening, connecting, and standing alongside our community as a trusted partner in care.
