Dr. Sima Kurland has been a Board-Certified Pediatrician with FCHC’s Dr. Fred Brown Children’s Health Center since August 2013. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biobehavioral Health from the Pennsylvania State University (2005) and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (2010). She completed her residency at Loxahatchee’s Palms West Hospital in June 2013 and is a fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Kurland says pediatric medicine requires a knowledgeable, caring, compassionate physician. Her passion for providing the best possible medical care for all children’s ages ensures her patients receive the highest quality and standards in medical practice. Education has always been a family priority, so she began working with children in a preschool environment as an assistant and subsequently as a teacher during her college years before medical school.
She says the best part about working at FCHC is the intrinsic and professional rewards received as an integral partner and asset in the medical care and healing of my young patients and their families. She notes that FCHC prides itself on providing its patients with the best possible medical care and treatment. The pediatricians and staff are qualified, compassionate, and caring professionals.
She lives by the principles of practical optimism and a positive attitude, feeling that these are essential to understanding that there can be a solution to every challenge. She believes there are reasons behind difficult situations and strives to appreciate the purpose of learning from these experiences to improve the lives of children and their families. She respects the beauty of diversity and seeks to comprehend everyone’s perspectives in all situations. Blessed with a compassionate and loving husband and two wonderful children — ages three and seven years — Dr. Kurland says that spending time with her family, extended family, and friends is her most significant interest.
