Meet Dawn Erdwein, MSN, APRN, CNM, a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife who has been with Florida Community Health Centers (FCHC) since November 27, 2023. Dawn brings two years of expertise to her current role, having earned a Master’s degree in science with a focus on nurse midwifery at Frontier Nursing University. Her skills and area of expertise lie in creating a nurturing environment where patients feel secure and valued, integrating evidence-based care seamlessly into every interaction.
Dawn’s journey in healthcare began in 1996 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, leading her to pursue an associate degree in science four years later. Despite life’s challenges, she persisted and obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2006, marking the start of her fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. Driven by a desire for continuous growth, she obtained her master’s degree in science, specializing as a Nurse Midwife, a significant milestone in her professional journey.
One of Dawn’s important achievements includes participation in the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) LEAD (leadership development program). For her, the best part of working at FCHC is the collective effort toward ensuring everyone has access to adequate healthcare. She passionately encourages individuals to become patients at FCHC, highlighting the comprehensive services offered, including primary care, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and more.
Dawn lives by the mantra “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Her commitment to compassionate care and holistic well-being reflects her deep-rooted values as a healthcare provider.
