ADA:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as administrative assistant to the Center Manager.

2. Maintain Center’s general correspondence files and Center’s contract file.

3. Record, type and maintain minutes of center staff meetings.

4. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

5. Answer telephones in Administrative Area, route calls and/or relay messages.

6. Receive, stamp and distribute all incoming mail including inter-office mail from Administrative Office. Stamp all outgoing mail

7. Provide FCHC’s Answering Service with monthly updated on-call schedules.

8. Formulate and type correspondence and/or reports for all physicians/administrative staff, and Social Worker.

9. Maintain all administrative files.

10. Develop and maintain effective personnel records system.

11. Appropriately route all requests for leave; maintain leave calendar.

12. Calculate and prepare payroll time and attendance records twice monthly for submittal to the accounting department.

13. Primary responsibility for the Drug Assistance Program.

14. Prepare check requests for postage, reimbursements, payments (accounts payable), etc.

15. Prepare and route requisitions for Center’s office supplies; route requisitions for Center Manager’s final approval.

16. Provide and/or submit all relevant information to the Administrative Office.

17. Maintain Bulletin Board with updated information, as well as updated listing of all board members.

18. Give Medipass authorizations to outside providers utilizing Case Notes in HealthPro.

19. Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments.

20. Data entry of Adolescent Health Records into Health Pro program.

21. Data entry of Outreach and Case Management encounters into HealthPro program.

22. Key encounters, when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Graduate.

Sills and Abilities Required:

  1. Type 60
  2. Computer literate with at least three (3) years experience in word processing in Windows environment, including Word and Excel.
  3. Experience with office equipment including facsimile machine, calculator and electronic mail machine.

History

Since 1976, Florida Community Health Centers Inc. has been a leader in providing health care services in Florida. Comprehensive primary health care services are provided through a network of health centers surrounding Lake Okeechobee and throughout Florida’s Treasure Coast.  

FCHC has health center locations in Clewiston, Fort Pierce, Indiantown, Moore Haven, Okeechobee,  Pahokee, Port St. Lucie, and Stuart with FCHC’s Corporate Office centrally located in West Palm Beach, Florida. There are over 400 employees, in which 100 are clinicians. FCHC has multiple staff members who speak Spanish and Creole, and translation is available for other languages as needed. FCHC has created a “one-stop shop” for patients providing pediatric, adult primary, dental, OB/GYN and pharmacy services, with an option to have prescriptions delivered by mail.Our patients benefit from a “medical home” model, where they may access and benefit from our extensive array of health care clinicians and services at each location. FCHC is starting the process to expand our behavioral health and susbstance use disorder services.

Utilizing a sliding fee scale (SFS), based on annual federal poverty limits (FPL), we are able to determine the amount of financial responsibility each patient carries regarding their health care services. Patients who are at or below 100% of FPL have their health care needs provided by FCHC at a nominal charge.

FCHC is a private, non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3, consumer directed corporation designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and accredited by The Joint Commission (JC), as well as recognized as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
