With more than twenty-five years of experience, Florida Community Health Centers, Inc. (FCHC) is one of Florida's leaders in primary health care services in south central Florida.

FCHC is a private, nonprofit consumer-directed health care corporation serving the medically underserved communities and farm worker populations in the south central Florida counties surrounding Lake Okeechobee. The service area encompasses Glades, Hendry, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

Comprehensive primary health care services are provided through a network of health centers located in Clewiston, Indiantown, Okeechobee, Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie. FCHC’s corporate office is located in West Palm Beach.

FCHC is designated as a federally qualified health center, and operates our community/migrant health centers at various locations under the name of Florida Community Health Centers, Inc. FCHC provides the best care possible for its patients, offering primary medical care, primary dental care and support services.

In addition to providing primary medical and dental health care services, FCHC administers an adolescent health program and a Ryan White Title III HIV Early Intervention Services Program in St. Lucie County, as well as a Community Outreach and Education Program for Migrant and Seasonal Farm workers in Hendry and Okeechobee Counties.

We also provide OB/Gyn services in Okeechobee, Ft. Pierce and Port St. Lucie. Since its inception, FCHC has expanded services rapidly to fill the health care gap for the under served population. Utilization has increased from less than 16,000 patients in 1977 to over 34,000 in 2003. Medical, dental and other health encounters totaled 128,300 in 2003.

FCHC is a participating provider in the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation in St. Lucie, Hendry, Martin and Okeechobee counties and is a provider for several area managed care companies including, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, OneSource/Health Advantage Network, Cigna Employers Mutual, First Health and Aetna, to name a few. FCHC accepts most private insurance plans and Medicare and Medicaid.

FCHC is an active member of the National Association of Community Health Centers, the Florida Association of Community Health Centers, Lake Okeechobee Rural Health Network, AIDS Consortium of the Treasure Coast, Everglades Areas Health Education Center, Chambers of Commerce in Clewiston, Indiantown, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.
